CPAS Scotland Series 1 (01/2008) - All you ever wanted to know about EPCs and Carbon Footprinting
The latest essential and comprehensive guide to current issues in the world of Local Government and Construction & Property.
All you ever wanted to know about EPCs and Carbon Footprinting

I am pleased to invite you to the first series of the regular events for the Construction and Property Advisory Service since our primary event last February. Delegate feedback has highlighted Energy Performance Certificates and Carbon Footprinting as areas of significant interest. We have therefore tailored the event in September to respond to this demand.

Despite the fact that the deadline to have Energy Performance Certificates in place is looming on the horizon there still seems to be a degree of confusion over what exactly is required.

Have you have ever asked any of the following questions?

1. What is an EPC?
2. Which buildings require one?
3. How long are they valid for?
4. Are there any exemptions?
5. Who can produce EPCs?
6. Is there software available?
7. What are the requirements for air conditioning units?

If so, then you should come along to this event where a representative from the Scottish Government will provide a presentation on this area, offer answers to these questions and give you the opportunity to ask any further questions and get them answered.

After lunch a guest speaker from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, which is putting all of the theory into practice for both EPC and reducing carbon emission will share their experiences in this area. The Authority concerned has set an ambitious target of reducing carbon emissions by 40% by 2013.

For our final session of the day a speaker from the Carbon Trust will give a presentation on What is a carbon footprint? How can strategies be developed to reduce an Organisation’s carbon footprint?

As usual we will start each event with our traditional Update session providing the essential and comprehensive guide to current issues in the world of Local Government and Construction & Property. There always seems to be such a lot going on and this session is just too important to miss.

The day will be suitable for property professionals and energy managers who are involved in any way with energy reduction strategies and carbon footprinting. Delegates to the event will also receive a CD with copies of the event material from the day.

As with all our Construction and Property events, we will endeavour to keep the numbers to a maximum of 30 to encourage practical involvement by all attendees.
